Welcome to the 4th International Conference on Stem Cells and Tissue Formation!

Prof. Elly Tanaka
Prof. Ezio Bonifacio
Prof. Ingo Roeder

Dear Colleagues,

From July 18th to 20th 2012 the 4th International Conference on Stem Cell and Tissue Formation will take place in Dresden, Germany. This time the overall topic of the meeting is

"Quantitative stem cell biology – From models to applications".

Under this headline, we are bringing together experimentalists and clinicians with theoreticians to discuss latest experimental/clinical results, new theoretical concepts, and innovative technologies.

To foster a truly interdisciplinary, open-minded exchange of ideas, the conference starts with a 1.5 day symposium on dynamics of stem cell heterogeneity and stem cell fate decisions (with topics ranging from basic to systems biology) in different tissues and cell types. This plenary part will be followed by parallel sessions on more specific topics, focusing on hematopoietic stem cells, neural stem cells and diabetes.

We believe this format is particularly suitable to encourage scientists to see beyond their own research and to foster exiting new ideas.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to Dresden!
