Visas
EU and EEA (European Economic Area) nationals
EU nationals do not require a visa to enter the Federal Republic of Germany.

Non-EU and non-EEA (European Economic Area) nationals
Generally speaking, all other foreigners require a visa for stays in Germany. A visa is not required for semi-annual visits of up to three months for nationals of those countries for which the European Community has abolished the visa requirement.

Neither the local Organizing Committee nor the Congress Secretariat accept any liability for damages and/or losses of any kind which may be incurred by the congress participants or by any persons accompanying them, both during official activities and excursions. Participation in all tours and events is at one's own risk. Participants are advised to take out insurance against loss, accidents or damage that could be incurred during the congress.

Currency
The euro (€) is the official currency of Germany and the European Union.  All the major credit cards are accepted in Germany in places displaying the emblem at the entrance.

Airport Information and Travel to Dresden
Dresden Airport is situated about nine kilometres north-east of the city centre. If you want to come by car, you can take the motorways A4 and A13, or highway B97. There are also S-Bahn, bus and tram connections to take you to the city centre quickly and inexpensively.

Dresden Airport offers non-stop flights to lots of destinations in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Furthermore Dresden can be reached easily from hub airports like Munich, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Cologne Bonn, Stuttgart, Palma de Mallorca, Vienna and Zurich.

Climate
From Leipzig and Dresden to Stuttgart, the climate is continental, marked by greater diurnal and seasonal variations in temperature, with warmer summers and colder winters. Winters are generally cold. The amount of snowfall and average temperatures are generally influenced by altitude rather than by various climatic regions.
